Art Gallery

The Marie W. Heider Center for the Arts in West Salem, Wisconsin includes a large gallery space which is the focal point and entrance area of the theatre. The gallery features local and regional artists from September through May. A large area of wall space for hanging framed art and two large glass display cases for sculpture and 3 dimensional art are enhanced by movable, dimmable track lighting. Many area and local artists have shown their work in the gallery.

Shows are featured for one month. The Gallery Committee is available to assist with hang/take down and help with a reception if necessary. Our local newspaper, the Coulee News does wonderful interviews, often with full color photos, featuring artists of the month.

Art Gallery Spaces:

• Three lockable glass showcases with adjustable glass shelving
  
  • Each case measures: 5 feet 7 inches in length, 3 feet 8 inches high, and 1 feet 3 inches deep
• Two large wall spaces
  • Wall 1 - 17 feet long and 4 feet high
  • Wall 2 - 39 feet long and 4 feet high

Take Part in the 1st Heider Center Art in Bloom

In the midst of winter, we are thinking of spring and planning the Heider Center version of Art in Bloom. If you have attended the Minneapolis Art Institute or the Milwaukee Art Museum's Art in Bloom exhibit, you have seen how floral designers use their craft to interpret various works of art. The designers each choose a piece of art that inspires them and using the materials of their profession (flowers, greens, branches, leaves, etc.) produce a piece that is their interpretation of the art chosen.

We invite artists to enter one-three pieces of 2D and/or 3D work that could fall into the broad theme of "Spring". The exhibit will be assembled on April 1 and floral designers will be invited to select their inspirational pieces soon afterward. The floral designs will be on display with the exhibit the weekend of April 20-22. A reception for the artists, floral desgners, garden clubs, and general public will be held from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. on April 21.

Please help make the 1st Heider Center Art in Bloom show a success by participating in this exhibition. This group exhibit will bring spring to all the senses.
